BIG news today!!! The Last Repair Shop has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Short 🎉🎉🎉 Directed by Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers, and Executive Produced by the founder of Encompass, Peter Rotter, this film is stealing the hearts of audiences all around the world by shining a light on the heroes of music education in Los Angeles. Encompass Music Partners is extremely proud of our involvement in this film, and our team has had an amazing time supporting @breakwaterstudios in this endeavor. Music education is the gift that keeps on giving, and we believe it should be as accessible as possible for all students, ESPECIALLY here in Los Angeles which many consider to be the recording and entertainment capital of the world. Thank you Ben and Kris for telling this story so beautifully. This is a really special one… tomorrow is the premiere of The Last Repair Shop, a documentary short film produced by @bgproudfoot and @krisbowersmusic with @breakwaterstudios Our founder and president Peter Rotter served as an Executive Producer on this film, and our music team coordinated the scoring sessions for the incredible score by Kris Bowers and @katya.richardson Every aspect of this film - the stories, the visuals, and the music - is breathtaking and beautiful. This documentary follows the story of four musical instrument repair shop workers who serve the LA Unified School District and allow young musicians to have access to working instruments at no cost. It also highlights the experiences of several LAUSD music students and how having an instrument has changed their lives. This story is near and dear to our hearts, and we are so excited for the world to see it. Thank you Ben and Kris for bringing this to life and showing the world not only how much impact a music education can make in a child’s life, but also the love and labor that goes into making that a possibility. Congratulations to everyone involved!!! ❤️

La La Land fans packed the lawn at the LA State Historic Park on Sept 16th for a live-to-picture concert/screening 🎥🍿🎶 Conducted by two-time Academy Award winning composer Justin Hurwitz, the 52-piece orchestra included many of the same musicians who recorded the movie’s original score Congrats to Justin and everyone involved on a beautiful night of film and music in the city of stars!!🌟🌟
